The original contest was the SCC RTTY from 1988-2019 founded by Slovenian Contest Club.

RTTYops (RTTYops founded in 2004 by youths from SP5ZCC + WWYC members), who took over the SCC RTTY contest in 2020 to save RTTY and to make a Scandinavian - Baltic RTTY Contest.

Programmed in dxlog by SM7IUN Bjørn & LB3RE Stein-Roar, RumLOG DL2RUM, Writelog, N1MM Logger G4OGB.

New stuff compared from the old SCC, is that there is added extra Multiplayer and QSO points likely from Scandinavian Activity Contest and NRAU Baltic contest.

In Northern Europe there is Scandinavian- and Baltic-countries with callsign prefixes from following DXCC: ES, JW, JX, LA, LY, OH, OH0, OJ0, OX, OY, OZ, SM, SP (SP1/SP2), TF and YL.

CONTEST RULES

1. OBJECTIVE
For amateur radio stations worldwide to contact any stations worldwide with use HF bands 160-10m to with RTTY Baudot mode(45 BAUD).

The object is to collect year (1900-2021) of issued license of each contacted station and to collect callsign prefixes Scandinavia and Baltic area.

2. CONTEST PERIOD
In 2021 , the last weekend of August,25th to 27th August 2023

Period 1: from 22:00 UTC Friday To 12:00 UTC Saturday (14 hours)

Period 2: from 1200 UTC Sunday To 23:59 UTC Sunday ( 12 hours)

4 a) A Remote TX/RX link via internet is forbidden, except category 4.41 Multi-Unlimited Distributed.

– all other logs and logs with the improper category information will be accepted as Checklog.

4 b ) Terms of Competition for all categories:
– All entrants must operate within the limits of their chosen category when performing any activity that could affect their submitted score.
– All operation must take place from one operating site. Transmitter and receiver must be located within a 500-meter diameter circle.
– Remote operation is permitted if the physical location of all transmitters, receivers, and antennas are at one station location. A remotely operated station must obey all station license, operator license, and category limitations. The call sign used must be one issued or permitted by the Regulatory Authority of the station location. Remote receivers outside of the station location are not permitted.

4c) DXcluster / network / skimmer
– Any public QSO alerting assistance is allowed for all categories, except in category 4.1 and 4.2 Classic . This includes, but is not limited to, DX Cluster-type networks, local or remote Skimmer and/or Skimmer-like technology and reverse beacon network.

4d) Selfspotting
– Self-spotting is permitted in any category.

“Single Operator Classic” categories (#4.1,4.2):
– Only one operator is allowed to perform all of the operating and logging functions.

“Single Operator Unlimited” categories (#4.5):
– Only one transmitted signal is allowed at any time per band.

“Multi Operator” category (#4.3 & 4.4):
– More than one person operates, logs, checks for duplicates etc.
– Only one signal per band is allowed.

“High Power” categories :
– Total output power must not exceed 1500W at any time.

“Low Power” categories:
– Total output power must not exceed 100W at any time.

5.1 EXCHANGE
“SINGLE Operator” categories:
Single op. stations must always transmit RST report and four-digit number of the year of operator’s first ever official amateur radio license irrespective from which station operation takes place, or which Call Sign is used in the contest.

Exchange example : RST + YEAR = 599 1994 etc.

5.1 “MULTI Operator” category:
Multi op. stations must transmit RST report and four-digit number of the year of first ever official amateur radio license issued to the:
– Club station (when Club station Call Sign is used in the contest) OR
– The owner of the Call Sign (when personal / individual Call Sign is used in the contest, for example owner of the station got license in 1998, then the exchange is 1998)

NOTE:
– i.e. 599 1982 means that first ever official amateur radio license was issued in 1982
– SWL license also counts as official amateur radio license
– there is no exception regarding Special Event Call Sign, exactly the same rules apply as written above
– please contact the organizer before the contest if you are unsure or in doubt about the correct contest exchange

6. MULTIPLIERS
6.1 Multiplier 1 are different four-digit numbers, meaning the four digits of the year of correspondent’s first official amateur radio licence.

The multiplier (XXXX) is counted once per band. A Multiplier counts per period.

6.2 Multiplier 2, this multiplayer are only valid for stations outside Scandinavia and Baltic area. A Multiplier counts per period and each prefix count as mult per band.

7. QSO POINTS

A QSO count once per period.

160 + 80m:

- Five (5) QSO points for valid contacts within your own DXCC or WAE country;

- Five (5) QSO points for valid contacts within your own continent but outside your own DXCC or WAE country;

- Fifth-teen (15) QSO points for valid contacts outside your own continent.

- Eight (8) QSO points for valid contacts to Scandinavian- and Baltic call-areas:

ES, JW, JX, LA, LY, OH, OH0, OJ0, OX, OY, OZ, SM, TF and YL + SP1/SP2 Area

Following prefixes:

40m:

- Six (6) QSO points for valid contacts within your own DXCC or WAE country;

- Six (6) QSO points for valid contacts within your own continent but outside your own DXCC or WAE country;

- Ten (10) QSO points for valid contacts outside your own continent.

- Eight (8) QSO points for valid contacts to Scandinavian- and Baltic call-areas:

8. SCORING
The final score is the sum of QSO points from all bands multiplied by the sum of multipliers from all bands.

9. DXCC ENTITY COMPETITION
A separate list of valid DXCC entity scores (the sum of all scores from valid DXCC country), regardless of club affiliation, will be published. ARRL DXCC Current Entities List is used for this purpose.

9.1 Country Competition

Within Scandinavia and Baltic there is a country competition with maximum score overall.

9.2 Continental Competition

The continental winner will have own awarding.

10. AWARDS (Plaques & Certificates)
Plaques will be awarded to the first place finishers in Five (5) entry categories (#1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and others if specifically sponsored to YOTA, youngster & portable stations. It is strongly recommended to write the exact operating frequency for each QSO in the Cabrillo log. Only logs with exact written frequencies will be eligible for the plaques.
The Contest Committee will, upon its own judgment, award certain number of certificates in each category.

11. PENALTIES
– For broken calls, bad exchanges, QSOs which do not appear in correspondent’s log and other similar irregularities in the log QSO points for each such an error will be removed. High percentage of bad contacts or violation of contest rules shall result in dropping participant from the classification.
– Participants who were disqualified or sanctioned in other contests in previous year shall result in dropping participant from the classification.
– Other reasons, like non-submission of information requested from participant, could also lead to dropping the participant from the classification.

11.B QSO Penalities with RED card

- Unsportsman behavor like calling a station by giving exchange before the station have started a QSO, will give a RED card as violation.

RED card suggestion can be sent to Contest Manager.

For examle WW1WWW is called by LA1XXX, and LA1XXX transmits WW1WWW 599 1990 1990 de LA1XXX, instead of correct procedure

then WW1WWW sends LA1XXX 599 1950 1950 LA1XXX, there after LA1XXX replies WW1XXX 599 1990 1990 de LA1XXX.

12. DISQUALIFICATION
Violation of signal quality, powerlimits checked due RBN reports, contest rules, unsportsmanlike conduct or very high percentage of unverifiable QSOs will be deemed sufficient cause for disqualification. Disqualified operator will not be classified in RTTYops RTTY scoring standings in the year following disqualification.

Following statement gives directly disqualification:

1. Remote operation via internet from another DXCC without having a valid permanent callsign in the DXCC. Like LA/K0RTTY cannot operate from USA, but if the operator have valid callsign LA0RTTY then it is a valid operation. As CEPT license is ONLY valid with physical operation from the DXCC.

2. Guest operator in a DXCC a must be physical in the DXCC to be accepted log. Like if LA/K0RTTY is active from Norway.

13. SUPERVISION
The Organizer reserves its right to use any available technology and to appoint different persons to check operation of different stations during the competition.

14. DECLARATION
By submitting the log you agree that:
– you have read and understood the rules of the contest and agree to be bound by them;
– you have operated according to all rules and regulations of your country that pertain to amateur radio;
– your log and UBN report may be made open to the public;
– all actions and decisions of the Contest Committee are official and final.

15. DEADLINE AND LOG INSTRUCTIONS
– The Contest Committee will accept electronic logs only. The Cabrillo file format is the standard for logs. If you are logging on the paper you have to make a fair copy into the file by yourself.

– All submitted logs in Cabrillo format must be uploaded from the Log Submission page no later than 7 days after the contest (Sunday 23.59 UTC).
